1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OfflineTTS (offlinetts.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

OfflineTTS provides free, browser-based AI text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (STT) tools. Speech synthesis and transcription inference run locally on your device using WebGPU or WebAssembly. Non-English Kokoro sends entered text to our phonemization service to convert it to pronunciation data; the application is configured not to retain submitted text as content. OfflineTTS does not upload source or generated audio for speech inference. Site delivery, model downloads, analytics, and third-party links create ordinary network requests as described in the Privacy Policy.

3. Free Service and Upstream Licenses

OfflineTTS is currently free to use with no account or per-character charge. Some underlying models and runtimes are available under permissive upstream licenses, including Kokoro TTS (Apache 2.0), the referenced Piper software (MIT), and Whisper (MIT). Those licenses apply to the relevant upstream components, not to the proprietary OfflineTTS application.

4. Third-Party Models and Services

Model files, runtimes, hosting, analytics, phonemization, and optional affiliate destinations may be provided in whole or in part by third parties. Their current licenses, terms, privacy policies, availability, and technical behavior apply to their services. OfflineTTS does not control a third-party checkout, account, subscription, model repository, or policy, and does not warrant that an upstream asset will remain available.

5. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content you input into the TTS and STT tools.
  • You must not use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
  • You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the service infrastructure.
  • You must not use automated scripts to access the service in a way that overloads our servers.

6. Intellectual Property

OfflineTTS does not claim ownership of the audio file you generate. Your right to use an output still depends on the upstream model and voice terms, the rights attached to your input text or recordings, and applicable law. Review the relevant model terms before commercial distribution. OfflineTTS application code, site design, and branding are proprietary and may not be copied, redistributed, reverse engineered, or reproduced without permission, except where law requires otherwise.

7. Privacy

English Kokoro does not use the phonemization endpoint after required assets are available. Non-English Kokoro sends entered text for phonemization, while audio synthesis remains local. Whisper transcription processes the selected recording in the browser. Website analytics, browser storage, model hosts, deletion options, and affiliate links are explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. Disclaimers

OfflineTTS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. AI-generated speech may contain mispronunciations, unnatural phrasing, or other artifacts. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any audio generated before using it in production or commercial contexts.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OfflineTTS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

10. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Termination

You may stop using OfflineTTS at any time. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the service at any time, with or without notice.

12. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
