1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using OfflineTTS (offlinetts.com), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.

2. Description of Service

OfflineTTS provides free, browser-based AI text-to-speech (TTS) and speech-to-text (STT) tools. All audio synthesis and transcription runs locally on your device using WebGPU or WebAssembly. For non-English TTS, text is sent to our phonemization server to convert it to pronunciation data (IPA phonemes); the server does not log or store your text. No audio data is ever sent to any server.

3. Free and Open-Source

OfflineTTS is free to use with no usage limits. The underlying AI models are open-source: Kokoro TTS (Apache 2.0), Piper TTS (MIT), and Whisper (MIT). You may use the generated audio for personal and commercial purposes in accordance with these licenses.

4. User Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the content you input into the TTS and STT tools.
  • You must not use the service to generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or violates the rights of others.
  • You must not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disrupt the service infrastructure.
  • You must not use automated scripts to access the service in a way that overloads our servers.

5. Intellectual Property

Audio generated by OfflineTTS using Kokoro TTS (Apache 2.0), Piper TTS (MIT), or Kitten TTS (open-source) is yours to use, including commercially, subject to the respective open-source licenses. The OfflineTTS website design, branding, and non-open-source code are the intellectual property of OfflineTTS and may not be reproduced without permission.

6. Privacy

Your privacy is central to OfflineTTS. English TTS works fully offline — no data leaves your device. For non-English TTS, only plain text is sent to our phonemization server; the server does not log or store it. STT works fully offline. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Disclaimers

OfflineTTS is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. AI-generated speech may contain mispronunciations, unnatural phrasing, or other artifacts. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying any audio generated before using it in production or commercial contexts.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, OfflineTTS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including but not limited to loss of data, revenue, or profits.

9. Modifications

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using OfflineTTS at any time. We reserve the right to discontinue or modify the service at any time, with or without notice.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, in the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
