Transform a voice recording into something else. Sixteen presets cover the effects people actually ask for — chipmunk, demon, robot, deep, alien, radio, megaphone, ghost, cave, 8-bit, whisper, vampire, frog, anime, helium, and hard-tuned — and every preset loads its values into the controls so you can adjust them rather than being locked to a fixed sound.
How the presets are built: each one is a specific combination of pitch shift, formant colour, drive, ring modulation, chorus, vibrato, tremolo, echo, reverb, and bit depth. The classic robot, for example, is ring modulation at a low frequency plus a mild crush. The demon is a downward pitch shift with drive and a long, dark reverb.
Editing beyond the preset: the twelve sliders give you the raw parameters. Selecting a preset fills them in; moving any slider keeps your change and marks the preset as modified. That means you can start from a preset and end somewhere entirely different without losing the starting point.
Recording vs uploading: the workspace accepts any audio file, so you can record with a phone or your computer's recorder and load the result. For a usable voice effect, record close to the microphone in a quiet room — every effect here amplifies whatever is already in the recording, including room noise.
Rights and consent: voice effects change how someone sounds, and using them to imitate a real, identifiable person without consent is a misuse. Decoding, processing, and encoding all run in this browser tab. The file you select is not uploaded, and the rendered audio is not stored on any server.

What Changes When You Change a Voice
Two different things make a voice sound like a particular person. Pitch is the fundamental frequency of the vocal folds — how high or low the note is. Formants are the resonant peaks of the vocal tract, which stay roughly constant regardless of the note being sung, and they are what make a voice recognisable as an adult, a child, or someone with a large or small frame.
Shifting pitch alone produces the classic chipmunk or demon effect, because the formants stay where they were. Adding a formant shift in the same direction makes the change sound natural; adding one in the opposite direction produces the unsettling, mismatched quality used in horror. The formant slider on this page is what separates a cartoon effect from a convincing transformation.
Recording Quality, Layering, and Consent
Every effect in the chain amplifies what is already in the recording. Ring modulation multiplies the signal by a carrier, which folds noise into the audible band. Bitcrushing quantises the amplitude, which turns quiet hiss into audible stepping. Reverb extends the tail of the room as well as the voice. That is why the single biggest improvement to a voice effect is a better source recording: closer microphone, quieter room, no clipping.
Effects also stack in ways that are easy to overdo. A pitch shift of eight semitones plus drive plus ring modulation plus a bitcrush produces something that is no longer recognisable as speech. If the goal is a character voice rather than a sound effect, use fewer stages and smaller values.
Every effect here is deterministic: the same file and the same control values produce the same output. That means you can reproduce a result later, but it also means the tool will not guess what you intended — check a short excerpt before rendering a long file, and keep the original.
Finally, consider what making a voice sound like someone else means in practice. Synthetic speech and transformed speech can be used to attribute statements to people who never made them. That is a real harm regardless of the tool used, and it is prohibited in most contexts. Use character voices for characters, and never to impersonate a real person without their consent.

Can I use a voice changer in real time?
Not on this page. Real-time monitoring needs the audio to be processed faster than it is captured, which browsers handle inconsistently, so this tool renders offline instead. You get a processed file, not a live monitor path.
Why does my recording sound noisy after changing the voice?
Pitch shifting and ring modulation both move and multiply whatever is present in the source, including room tone and hiss. Record close to the microphone in a quiet space, or run the file through the noise remover before applying a voice effect.
What is the difference between a voice changer and a pitch shifter?
A pitch shifter changes one thing. A voice changer is a chain of effects — pitch, formant, drive, modulation, and space — designed to change the character of a voice rather than its key. The pitch shifter is the simpler tool for transposition.
Is it legal to make my voice sound like someone else?
Impersonating an identifiable person to deceive or defraud is illegal in many jurisdictions, and every major platform prohibits it. Creative character voices are a different matter, but the line is about deception and consent, not about the effect itself.
